Detailed Product Description

Characteristice: A high molecular weight resin having a composition of approximately 60 percent vinyl chloride and 40 percent vinyl acetate. LC-40 offers a desirable balance of chemical resistance, solubility, diaphaneity, film strength, and thermoplasticity. It has excellent interbedded adhesion. The film with high toughness, flexibility and lasting, anti-wear water resistance, low water swelling and low permeability characteristics. Because of its lower melt index, LC-40 has well sealing property in low temperature.

Solubility: LC-40 is usually dissolved in a relatively strong solvent/diluent combination, such as ketone solvent/aromatic diluent (50/50 percent by weight). It is also dissolved well in relatively weak polarity solvent, such as ethyl acetate and butyl acetate. LC-40 has more solubility, when dissolved in ketone solvent/aromatic diluent, resin solutions of 30% solids can be achieved. Chlorinated hydrocarbons such as dichloroethane and 1,2 - dichloroethane can completely dissolve LC-40, and methyl chloroform and tetrachloroethane are relatively weak solvent for LC-40. Aromatic hydrocarbons have a good role in the swelling, generally using with ketone.

Application: LC-40 is used primarily for maintenance coatings, plastic coatings, heat-transfer paint, outdoor printing ink, carbon ribbon, adhesive for magnetic card and card board. When using with carboxyl resin in the sealing of aluminum foil and PVC can effectively reduce the heat sealing temperature, raise the heat sealing strength.
